He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, whose leaf also shall not wither…The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.” (Psalms 1:3, 4 NKJV)

Our town of Poyen, AR, is a unique town, built from the Swamp Reclomation Act of 1850. We are surrounded by swamp and overflow land, with springs that bubble up from the ground. When it rains, there’s not much place for the water to move because the saturation point for our ground is so easily achieved. We live in a very wet, green area!

Yet, our one remaining Oak tree that we tried to keep in our new parking area died from lack of water. Not because of a drought, but because it’s roots couldn’t get to the water with new dirt packed on top of it. Surrounded by water, yet died of dryness.

God is all around you today, but you’ll only have Him because your “spiritual roots” are reaching for His presence, not packed down with the stuff of life. Life and death in God is within your grasp, so choose to grasp Life! You are loved today!
