Then Jesus shouted, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, ‘Unwrap him and let him go!'” (John 11:43, 44 NLT)
As I sit here at a baseball tournament, Spring is in the air! Sunshine, trees blossoming, birds singing & umpires bellowing tell me that prettier days lay ahead! I enjoy winter, but eventually I’m through with the bitter cold and icy conditions.
Grief and difficulty often hover around us like winter’s chill, keeping us from relaxing and enjoying life. Just as Lazarus had to shrug off his grave clothes to live again, getting rid of my problems for a while by sitting at a ball game, wetting a hook, or swinging a golf club helps me to keep my perspective: things will get better!
When you find yourself going thru an emotional time or hardship, allow me to remind you of one of your greatest accomplishments. You have survived & overcome every difficulty you have ever faced! Get out of it like taking off your jacket on a warm spring afternoon, knowing it’s about to be a beautiful day! You are loved! See you at church tomorrow!
