King Hezekiah now sent word to all Israel and Judah, even to the people of Ephraim and Manasseh, asking everyone to come to the Temple of the lord at Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of the lord, the God of Israel.” (2 Chronicles 30:1 NLT)
As we are currently in Passover, here’s an interesting story. Around 700 BC, King Hezekiah of Judah in Southern Israel decided to honor God by celebrating the Passover in a grand fashion to honor God. He went so far as to invite all the other tribes of Israel to join. It turned out to be a wonderful celebration.
The reason this is so important is because things between Judah and the rest of Israel were not good, like America/Iran not good. By reaching out in good faith for a godly purpose, a wonderful opportunity was experienced. It is believed that because Hezekiah went to such lengths to honor God, blessings were poured out on his life and kingly reign.
To what extremes are you willing to go in order to honor God? As you celebrate this Holy Week of Jesus doing the same thing, realize that this is our life: Honor God through sacrifice. You were made to live blessed, so live worthy of it! You are loved today!
