I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways.” (I Kings 2:2, 3 NKJV)
As old King David was about to pass away, he made his son, Solomon, the King of Israel. David knew what had made his 40-year reign successful, and that was obedience to God. Go to your local bookstore and you’ll find a host of books on ways to succeed in various areas of life: business, finance, relationships, weight management, and so on. And while some of these will work at moments, none are guaranteed. Only God makes your way blessed. But we must be faithful to obey His way written in the Bible and how He daily leads through the direction of the Holy Spirit.
It is a shallow childish person who only lives for the moment, chasing whatever makes them feel good quickly. Live disciplined, knowing that the delayed gratification of obedience will lead to greater satisfaction overall. Let God’s best be yours everyday! You are loved!
