Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.” (Hebrews 12:12 NKJV)
Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Phillipe is rebuilding his life. “Being an infantry soldier you are on the front,” he said. “I got hit with a lot of IEDs. Got hit with an RPG. Lot of fire fights.” Phillipe suffered a spine injury, a traumatic brain injury, and lives with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). His mentor helping him transition to civilian life through a wounded warrior program helped him find Ozarks Hydrographics in Nixa, MO, that is helping him learn a trade and get back to living.
While this verse actually speaks of the wounding from being corrected spiritually, it also applies to the wounds from living. There is a time to be still, repent, learn, and heal. But afterwards, life has got to happen again. We were never meant to live life from the sidelines, no matter what put us there. God’s desire is to be strengthened again and return back to the fight of living!
In you beats the heart of a warrior. We all get battle-weary and wounded. Take heart in knowing you’re not alone! But find that place of healing in God’s presence and enter life again! You were made to fight for the winning side! You are loved to live!
