As righteousness leads to life, so he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.” (Proverbs 11:19 NKJV)

Thousands have been killed in a 5-year-old Islamic uprising that aims to turn Nigeria into an Islamic state, though the country’s population is almost equally divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominantly Christian south. In the city of Jos, the center point between the two groups, a terrorist tried to detonate a bomb at a soccer game last week, only to be caught in its premature blast, along with two bystanders.

The Bible guarantees that if we are bent to do wrong, we will eventually pay the price. Even though our flesh desires the things it shouldn’t, we must live disciplined, being willing to deny our passions for what we know is right. No matter how small the temptation, a price will always be payed.

Living pure isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. Just as two bystanders were caught in the bungled bomber’s blast, innocent people pay prices for our weaknesses. Go to God and allow His strength to be yours! You are loved today!
