And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us.” (1 John 3:24 NIV)

Former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was effectively a triple agent, working also for MI6 and the Spanish secret service. He was poisoned with radioactive polonium-210 while drinking tea at the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair, England, by other former KGB agents in 2006. His death brought to light a major question and possibly the reason for his assassination: Just who did Litvinenko really work for?!

There are many things in life that we may never be sure of. Your salvation, however, should not be one of those! While we can’t be hostages of mercy, single sins won’t cause us to lose our salvation or else grace doesn’t exist. But God’s conviction is meant to bring us to true brokenness and repentance before we do wander off the reservation. The fact that the Holy Spirit is dealing with you is testimony that God’s grip is still on your life!

Don’t live life next to Sin’s fence, trying to be both holy and worldly. Unlike Litvinenko, you can only serve one side. And when you belong to God, the moving of the Holy Spirit within you is the sign that you are His. So stay His! You are loved! See you at Church tomorrow! (6/28/14)

  1. Because I suspect you intend to spread the truth and not falsehood I wish to correct your story about Alexander Litvinenko. It is commonly understood that a “triple agent” is a spy. But there is no reliable information that Litvinenko ever did espionage work. Even his wife attests that he never was a spy. Litvinenko is known to have worked for the business tycoon Boris Berezovsky, an outlaw from Russia who was hiding out in London. Litvinenko’s job was to spread malicious falsehoods about Russian President Vladimir Putin who Berezovsky despised. When Litvinenko was poisoned, Berezovsky and his cohorts fabricated and propagated the story that Litvinenko had been murdered on orders of Putin. Interestingly, the London coroner has never ruled that Litvinenko’s death was actually a homicide. I discovered all this in 2007 when the organizers of the World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists commissioned me to analyze the media coverage of Litvinenko’s death. Subsequently, based on my findings, I published a book that reveals the truth about the Litvinenko case. The book is titled The Phony Litvinenko Murder, and more information can be found at http://www.omnicompress.com/plm

    • Thank you, William! You’re right, no misdirections here. In creating these devotions, our team looks for analogies to go with the theme. Being done everyday, we don’t always get as thorough as we should. Thank you for the heads up!
