God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.” (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ NLT)

On a cold night, in December 2005, the community of Russellville AR, was shocked by the murder of Nona Dirksmeyer, 19, a student at the local college, Arkansas Tech University. Through a very difficult trial phase, two different suspects were released, leaving her murder unsolved, which has created a publicity campaign, “Justice For Nona”. It’s still an open wound to his day.

The world isn’t always a fair place. Even as a Christian, injustices creep into our life. The Bible says that when a believer is desperate for justice, they can be guaranteed that it will happen. It just doesn’t say when. In truth, it may not happen in this lifetime or our timetable. What we do know, however, is that God, who desires to show grace, will always make sure justice will occur. In the meantime, He gives us peace to continue, trusting that God will take care of things so that I don’t have to be consumed with revenge.

Life isn’t easy. But by trusting in a holy God to direct our steps, we can live a fuller life where justice and mercy are both found. Even when I don’t have all the answers, I can rest assured that everything’s gonna be okay. You are loved today! Be at peace!
