Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.” (Psalms 27:13 NLT)
When it comes to a picture of gloominess, nobody characterizes it better than Winnie the Pooh’s friend, Eeyore. If you’ve ever watched the classic Disney movie or any of the children’s spinoff TV shows, Eeyore is the sad, pessimistic little donkey that finds the bad in everything. No matter the situation, leave it to Eeyore to see the negative, find the sad, or imagine the worst. He is, by far, NOT my favorite Disney character!
Life and the Church are both filled with lots of “Eeyores”. While life does have it’s fair share of “oopses”, it is also filled with wonderful things too. It takes just as much faith to believe for negative things to occur as it does for positive, it just happens to be easier to be negative. To be positive requires more effort.
Ask God to help you take an honest look at yourself and your outlook on life. Nobody likes negative people! Let God make you into someone that looks for the best from God in life and in others. You just might find a more rewarding life and a growing circle of friends! You are loved today!
