But the other criminal protested, ‘Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.'” (Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭40-41‬ NLT)

Lee Strobel was the award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune before becoming a New York Times best-selling author of more than twenty books and serves as Professor of Christian Thought at Houston Baptist University. As a young atheist, Strobel set out to disprove Jesus and Christianity. However, with all of his research, he began to realize the reality of who Jesus is, how He does operate in our daily lives, and that the evidence became too overwhelming, leading him to his own conversion from atheist to Christian in 1981. Today, Strobel uses that knowledge to refute wrong thinking about the Christ Life.

Sometimes we have to engage in apologetics, which means defending the faith. Not with violence or anger, but with studied beliefs and crafted words. By standing up for God’s Word, we stand our ground for God’s glory instead of giving it away on a whim or out of cowardice.

Arguing never solves anything unless one side is willing to change. But by standing up for what we believe, bullies are kept at bay. Stand up proudly for God’s Word! A shrinking army is needing new warriors of faith! You are loved today!

See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” (Isaiah‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ NLT)

Jeff Rennell was among the motorists caught up in the tangle of nearly four dozen semi-tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles near Michigan City on I-94 in Indiana due to whiteout conditions which left three motorists dead and several injured back in January. “It was like an onion. They went layer by layer by layer by layer,” he says of the 3-hour rescue by 15 First Responders. “They said, ‘We’re not leaving tonight ’til you get out of this car.'”

We should never be surprised when God “finally” comes to save us. With God, timing is everything. He’s not only meeting your needs but those of 6+ billion people also, with all of our lives intersecting to make greater impacts in the passing. God saves us so that others can see and be both inspired for their own life and witness God at work firsthand.

As you go about your week, don’t become impatient by what God seems to NOT be doing. God is always on the move on your behalf. Stay strong knowing that, like Rennell, God will not leave you until you are safe from the crushing layers of your life! You are loved today!

The disciples were astounded. ‘Then who in the world can be saved?’ they asked.” (Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭25‬ NLT)

“Mitchell” was not a regular guy, nor was his church. Mitchell was newly saved and hungry for God. He had been a warlock in two covens overseas and one here in America when he was radically changed! His church, however, wasn’t. Adultery, divisiveness, and rebellion ran rampant in the congregation. One evangelist even preached a message against her called “Witches Brew in the Pew.” Ironic choice of terms, I thought.

The disciples had their own world rocked by Jesus. If the “righteous” won’t make Heaven, then who would?! The answer is those that are TRULY changed. Mitchell deserved a deep place in Hell for his choices, yet God reached out to him and gladly accepted the prodigal home. His church, however, continued to follow it’s own hellish path of destruction. The true miracle is how he got saved there in the first place!

Only God can accomplish true redemption; Man fails at it everyday. Never write anyone off as “impossible for redemption“! Sometimes it’s the toughest ones that come home first while those that know better never do! Make sure your path is actually the one of true repentance! You are loved today!

Can you direct the movement of the stars— binding the cluster of the Pleiades or loosening the cords of Orion? Do you know the laws of the universe? Can you use them to regulate the earth?” (Job‬ ‭38‬:‭31, 33‬ NLT)

Only 25,000 light-years away, the Quintuplet Cluster is one of the Milky Way’s most spectacular sights. According to Listverse.com, the cluster is akin to a cosmic kindergarten—full of young, brightly shining stars. This area of space is also very densely packed, with stars located within punching distance of each other. The center of the Milky Way is obscured by patches of white-hot gas and dust. Thus, the Quintuplet Cluster remained hidden until 1990 when astronomers were able to peer through the shroud using infrared imaging.

We like to think we control our lives and keep everything in order, but we deceive ourselves. Just like we can’t order or control the heavenlies, neither can we orchestrate what will happen today or tomorrow, keeping ourselves safe or happy. Only God has complete control of all things around us because He sees it all.

So, relax and live! Come to church today knowing that Where God directs you, He will always take care of you. Short of creating your own meltdown, you’ll be fine when you let God direct your stars! True control belongs to Him! You are loved today!

One day Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.’ So they got into a boat and started out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap.” (Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭22-23‬ NLT)

Hope International President Peter Greer is sounding an alarm about a different danger in doing good: spiritual burnout. In a cbn.com interview, he shared his belief as to the high drop out rate of Christian workers worldwide. “We have thrown ourselves into causes of social justice,” he said. “We have thrown ourselves into missions and we have been burned out as a result.”

Where there is high stress and output without regenerating input, things get dangerous. While this scripture stands out for Jesus calming the storm, learn the first lesson first: Jesus calmed Himself with an opportunity for rest. He knew to replenish His own needs before taking on more loads.

As you prepare to come to Church tomorrow, take time to rest. For some of us that don’t get Sunday off due to Church work, take time today for rest and refueling. There will ALWAYS be work that needs to be done to save the world. But if you don’t take care of yourself, you risk becoming a sidelined piece of damaged goods instead of God’s powerful hand to mankind! You are loved today! Get some rest!

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart.” (Psalms‬ ‭73‬:‭26‬ NLT)

One of my last moments that I treasure with my brother was having lunch together at Sonic. His brain tumor had incapacitated him much like a stroke, limiting his ability to walk and use his hands. Yet, as he dove into a footlong chili dog, his spirits were up and he was driven to live while he still lived. No matter his prognosis, he drew his fighting strength from his relationship with God.

Our spiritual stability cannot be based on easily disruptable things like health, happiness, possessions or people groups. God is the only one who doesn’t change or stops operating dependably. By basing your strength to keep going on His presence and His promises found in His Bible, we won’t be disappointed like we are with everything else!

Steven’s strength through God paid off not only by living as long as he did, but also with the new body he has in Heaven today! God’s desire is to keep you strong with His grace in this life, and to give even more in the one to come. Don’t give up when you could be strong! You are loved today!
