“You will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

On August 29, 1973, Roger Mallinson and Roger Chapman were operating the Pisces III mini submarine in order to lay a new transatlantic telephone cable. They were 150 miles off the coast of Ireland when the sub encountered an accident with an assisting trawler, sinking 1,575 feet to the bottom. The men communicated that they were safe and confident of being rescued: “Our morale is fantastic. Tell our wives we’re okay.”

It turned out to be a 76 hour, multinational rescue effort. Investigators later determined that the men had only 12 minutes of oxygen left to breathe! It is believed to still be the deepest submarine rescue mission ever accomplished.

While these men probably struggled to remain confident of their rescuers ability, we can have supreme confidence in the fact that our God has never failed! Rely on the Holy Spirit today to help you stay positive and encouraged, no matter how dark it seems. God will see you through! You are loved today!

The peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27 NLT)

According to a report in the Rocky Mountain News, 37 people were killed across the state on Jan. 1, 2013, the first day that marijuana became legal for all adults to purchase. Several more were clinging onto life in local emergency rooms and were not expected to survive. Seems “going green” wasn’t so great.

Most of us have our personal addictions, be it Budweiser or Blue Bell, to cope with stress and overwhelming life. But what they don’t give is solutions or lasting peace, just a moment where the edge isn’t so sharp. So why is it that we chase moments of dullness instead of searching for actual peace? Especially when the answer has been right in front of us all along?!

Come to Church today with that question in mind. God is the only creator of lasting peace, that quality you won’t find in any other “fix”. Only He can provide it, and He’s waiting for you to want it. You are loved today! Ask Him!
