I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.” (Psalms‬ ‭9‬:‭1‬ NLT)

Tears flowed freely and unashamedly as the woman shared her testimony during the service. It was her personal story of abuse, violation, abandonment, and the subsequent years of alcohol, drugs, and hollow relationships that she ran to for help to mask the pain and keep living one more day. You could feel her hopelessness.

But then she spoke of meeting a Savior that loved her like no one ever had, giving her freedom to live, laugh, and even find love! Hearts were racing as she described her transformation by the Lover of her Soul!

While the story was heart-wrenching, the real beauty of the moment is what happened next. As the call for others in pain and life-torment to find their own freedom in Christ, people began to move to a church altar, allowing others to come pray with them. As years of collective grief began to pour out, it gave way to something more pure and electrifying: a joy and laughter that wasn’t there before, but was birthed anew, evidence that a life-change had happened!

And what was it that helped multiple souls stuck in hopelessness find freedom? Simply a soul that had found her own rebirth and did what the Bible said we should do, by sharing our personal tale of Thanksgiving with others! Take time this week to focus on what God has done for you. Share those stories because you never know when it might inspire a life-change in someone else! You are loved today! Feel it!

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again.” (Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ NLT)

According to Promises.com, many people who try to recover from addiction to alcohol or drugs unfortunately do not stay in recovery. Although relapse may be common, rarely does it occur without warning. There are usually significant behaviors that can signal that the recovering person is at high risk for relapse. It is critical for anyone in recovery to understand these warning signs.

As our text suggests, God helps us to find freedom from our selfish, addictive, and destructive vices. But just as God seeks to deliver, Satan would like nothing more than to see you fail. We must see our struggles as more than chemical or trained, they are deeply spiritual and must find its conquering through spiritual means. That’s why programs like Celebrate Recovery and a local church are so essential in finding a community to help achieve and maintain freedom.

Are you needing freedom? Are you in danger of relapsing? Have you already slid back into your old destructive ways? Do whatever it takes to be clean again and then stay clean! Find a spiritual community that will get you back to higher grounds! You are loved today!

In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.” (2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ NLT)

Jessica was a beautiful bride and her mother’s joy. But as she began her self-destruction with prescription drugs, it all became a nightmare. Finally, at a place of intervention in Arizona, surrounded by those who love her most, love stepped in and helped Jessica realize her condition and accept help. Today, according to interventionnow.com, she is completely clean, restored, and truly living again.

It is unbelievably hard to watch those you love become a hot mess, making chronically bad decisions and dragging the hearts of those they love into the abyss with them. Sometimes intervention works, but often it doesn’t, not if our “Jessicas” won’t admit to problems or accept help. Yet, our love must be greater than their determination, taking our loved one to the God of all Healing. God can fix what others call hopeless!

The Christ Life isn’t just about you, but also about those around you who need the peace and assurance that we strive to live in. No one knows God’s grace and abilities like you! You are not the Savior, needing to personally reclaim every broken life. But He does work through you. Let God help others through your willing life. You are loved today! Pass it on!
