Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” (Genesis‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ NLT)

In April 2008, Wendy Petherick was standing beside a river in Northwest Australia, near Darwin, when she was attacked by an 8′ saltwater crocodile. Her husband, Norm, immediately jumps on the crocodile to save his wife! After wrestling with it a bit, he finds its eyes, gives them a gouge, prompting the croc to let go. Norm literally pulled his wife out of the jaws of death.

Just as a “saltie” swims by the waters edge in search of unsuspecting prey, sin camps out at the front steps of our heart, waiting for a chance to pounce. In this scripture, God is warning a very angry Cain not to let sin control him. Cain wouldn’t listen and instead eventually killed his brother. Even though God provided a warning, Cain didn’t heed it and paid a heavy price.

The Enemy longs to trip you up and destroy your life. Sin is enticing and is therefore hard to resist. As you encounter temptation, don’t fight it alone! Let God help you to resist it. You’ll survive spiritually as you let God help you fight your battles! You are loved today!

But I will rescue you from those you fear so much. Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe.” (Jeremiah‬ ‭39‬:‭17-18‬ NLT)

According to David Harlow, associate director for operations with the U.S. Marshals Service, more than 18,400 men, women and children have participated in the Witness Security Program, and not one of the 8,500 witnesses or the 9,900 family members has been harmed, according to the U.S Marshals Service. “It’s a big feather in our cap,” Harlow told CNN back in 2013.

You don’t have to rat on the Mob to be scared of people. For the most part, you simply don’t want to fight, be frowned on, or have someone spreading rumors about you. Just as the Marshals protect from harm, so does The Lord, watching over our life and making sure we are safe from the more common, less deadly form of personal conflict. Yet, even in dangerous moments, God intervenes!

As you live today, know that God watches over you! You don’t have to fear the words or weapons of others. His vow to you is safety, as long as you stay in His spectrum of blessing! You are loved today! Live confidently!

But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction.” (Jude 1:10 NLT)

In this verse, Jude is mentioning dangerous people in the church. Prior to that, he was warning about dangerous angels and dangerous people in life. The moral of Jude? Be careful! There’s dangerous things in life!

We don’t quit living just because some things seem out of balance or people misbehave. Neither should we be ready to give up church when things of life show up there. Be wise, be gracious, but also be present. As the saying goes, evil reigns when good men do nothing.

Come to church today! Be willing to worship no matter who is there & make sure that Jude’s tale doesn’t apply to you! You’ll find many more like-minded people who are glad you came and ready to get there worship on with you! You are loved today!
