In fact, it was your enthusiasm that stirred up many of the Macedonian believers!” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭2‬ NLT)

As a teenager, I watched as my Youth Pastor challenged our youth group to read the whole Bible in a year, only to see scores of adults rise up to the challenge due to the example of the teens. I have watched people give to missions in response to watching a child give what little money they had as a sacrifice. I even met a man that accepted Jesus into his life after watching me, a kid at the time, portray Jesus in a skit, wanting that same compassion that he saw in our drama! Crazy stuff!

The truth is, people do watch Christians to see if we live like we say we believe. Even random acts of kindness can be contagious! By giving hope and making grace beautiful, people are provided an example to follow and will do likewise!

In a day where we are worried about copycat killers or crimes being committed because of negative examples out of the media, wouldn’t it be great to be a part of something wonderful being passed on?! Take time this week, a time for thankfulness, and give simple compliments, gestures of politeness, or even paying forward at a drive-thru fast food line. Know that with faithful living being played out for all to see, it will eventually cause emulation, making others to desire to follow your lead! You are loved today! Start a beautiful trend!

With God’s help we will do mighty things.” (Psalms‬ ‭60‬:‭12‬ NLT)

By A.D. 732, the Islamic Umayyad Caliphate had already conquered Spain and was now descending upon France in order to topple Western Europe. Led by Charles Martel, the French were able to choose the perfect battlefield: a hilltop surrounded for miles by dense woods. The fighting took place over a single day in October. By nightfall, the Umayyad army was completely broken, with thousands dead, and European Christianity remaining the prevalent religion, thanks to Martel’s courage.

While we might not be a Charles Martel, we can all do things of significance in Jesus’ name! Ginormous events are impressive, but it’s the daily workings that make the difference: a phone call, a moment of intercessory prayer, an act of forgiveness. Little is much when God is in it!

As you begin your weekend, look for simple ways to make someone’s life easier to live. A hand or gesture is mighty when it makes an eternal difference is someone’s life! Be that difference maker! You are loved today! (10/24/14)

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” (Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ NLT)

Last night, two teams made a little boy’s dream come true. Born with physical challenges, Hunter can’t do everything his classmates can. But last night, at the last game of the season, suited up in full pads, Hunter was the star running back, running for 140 yards, scoring two touchdowns and making his whole town proud!

Sometimes what we do in the Christ Life doesn’t seem all that spiritual, but it does make a difference. Two schools working out the details so that this little man could have a once-in-a-lifetime experience will impact his family forever! But so does providing love, a helping hand, or a generous gift. Nothing done out of genuine love and compassion for the littlest of God’s children is ever a waste!

Hunter’s family will always remember the night that their little boy was the Most Valuable Player of the game. Their gratitude to all involved in Poyen and Glen Rose schools will always linger in their hearts! Imagine God’s heart, then, when we go out of our way to do a random act of kindness for someone every day! Every touch matters! You are loved today! (10/21/14)

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.” (Proverbs 3:27 NLT)

June 1996 saw two competing rallies in Ann Arbor, Michigan. One was a Ku Klux Klan rally, the other was protesting the KKK. All was calm until a man was spotted with rascist tattoos & clothing, which led to a mob stomping by the protestors. However, a young black high school girl, Keshia Thomas, shielded the man with her body until police could intervene, prompting a change in the man’s son.

The Bible commands us to do good to those around us, if it’s in our power to help. Some may not deserve the kindness, but neither do we deserve God’s grace. True disciples are those that do good daily instead of just talking about it.

Ask God to help you do good deeds that reflect your inner relationship with Him. We all get enough abuse in this old world. Be a difference maker by doing good to anyone God puts in your path! They are ready for a life-changing touch from God through your hands! You are loved today!
