“Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem.” (Luke‬ ‭13:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

It is an epidemic that has been spreading around the world. MILLIONS are caught in its clutches. It is costing people some $600k a day. It is creating health issues, loss of jobs, and even the UK has reportedly seen rehabilitation centers open up new wings to bring needed treatment to give people their lives back! What is this infernal presence that’s taking over the world and ruining lives?! It’s nothing other than that sinister ploy called… (spooky music intro inserted here)Candy Crush!

We’ve all seen people’s lives devastated because of life-controlling issues and addictions. While some seem worth the outrage, the simple or petty things, like social media or video games, still cause not only significant damage in personal lives, but spiritually too! Too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing.

Just as Jesus made sure He was moving towards His life purpose (crucifixion) while He lived among us, so we must do the same thing. Play time and hobbies are good stress relievers, but if it is keeping us from our life objectives (to know Him and make Him known), then the enjoyable has become an enemy. Live your purpose, not your pleasures! Eternities hang in the balance! You are loved!

“No evil shall befall you…” (Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭10‬ NKJV)

One of the most infamous crimes in American history took place on the evening of August 9, 1969, when cult leader Charles Manson ordered four members of the Manson Family to break into the Los Angeles home of actress Sharon Tate. Tate and four other victims were brutally murdered. There was one individual, however, that was supposed to be there, but a minor inconvenience saved his life.

Noted Polish novelist Jerzy Kosinski was invited to attend Tate’s get-together on August 9 and hopped on a flight from Paris to Los Angeles. Kosinski’s luggage ended up being sent to New York by mistake, so when the flight stopped there for a layover, he was forced to leave the plane to retrieve his bags. As a result, he missed the remainder of his flight and was not present at Tate’s home when the Manson murders took place.

While we do not know Kosinski’s spiritual state of the time, we do know what scripture says for the believer. God desires to protect us, even by causing inconvenience if it accomplishes the task. Live a protectable life by staying in God’s hands! You are loved today!

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ NLT)

From 2005-2009, 6 pastors in the Carolinas attempted suicide, with at least 4 succeeding. While not everyone with depression attempts suicide, most all suicides are depression sufferers, which according to the AMA is roughly 20,000 per year. Studies also show that chronic depression affects 25% of clergy, as high as the general population.

While some cases of the blues are caused by chemical imbalances in the body, most is just the beat down of daily life. Satan uses our discouragements to his advantage, twisting us up even more. And while it is easy to stay focused on our problems, the Bible points out our way to good mental health: Keeping your mind stayed on the God of our deliverance instead of the circumstances of our bondage!

You’ll never find a life free from turmoils, but you can limit them by living the Christ Life right. Ask God today to help your mind to stay on Him and His words of peace and blessing, instead of obsessing over your issues. Life is better for the living when it’s done right! You are loved today! Enjoy it!

In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.” (2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ NLT)

Jessica was a beautiful bride and her mother’s joy. But as she began her self-destruction with prescription drugs, it all became a nightmare. Finally, at a place of intervention in Arizona, surrounded by those who love her most, love stepped in and helped Jessica realize her condition and accept help. Today, according to interventionnow.com, she is completely clean, restored, and truly living again.

It is unbelievably hard to watch those you love become a hot mess, making chronically bad decisions and dragging the hearts of those they love into the abyss with them. Sometimes intervention works, but often it doesn’t, not if our “Jessicas” won’t admit to problems or accept help. Yet, our love must be greater than their determination, taking our loved one to the God of all Healing. God can fix what others call hopeless!

The Christ Life isn’t just about you, but also about those around you who need the peace and assurance that we strive to live in. No one knows God’s grace and abilities like you! You are not the Savior, needing to personally reclaim every broken life. But He does work through you. Let God help others through your willing life. You are loved today! Pass it on!
