“As each part does its own special work…the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬ NLT)

While Queen Victoria’s status as the first known carrier of hemophilia is well documented, few realize just how devastating the spread of her genes were on the next three generations that followed her. A son, three grandsons, and four great-grandsons were all sufferers, most of whom bled to death. Since her children eventually married into other politically important wealthy bloodlines, Queen Victoria’s genes weakened the royal houses of England, Russia, Spain, and Prussia.

According to our text, the spiritual body of the Church is healthy when everyone is doing there part. So what happens if we don’t? Then not only is the Church and its people in danger of becoming unhealthy, but future generations of the Church also stand the chance of inheriting this destructive state since both activity and inactivity are learned behaviors.

As Christians, we are made to know God and to make Him known. By doing the Christ Life right, we can prevent a spiritual equivalent of Victoria’s hereditary torment. Live right so that the future Church lives! You are loved!

Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” (Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ NLT)

Back in 2012, the R&B star, Usher, claimed a delusional woman was stalking him and constantly showing up uninvited to his Georgia home. Usher eventually had to obtain a restraining order against 26-year-old Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw who claimed she was married to the singer. She assumed her attentions would stir his heart, only to find his lawyer stirred up instead!

We run into trouble when we try to please God by what we THINK God approves or condones. The only guide we have for pleasing the Lord is the Bible; anything else is simply presumptuous. Just because you do something “in Jesus name” or claim that He “knows your heart” doesn’t mean He approves! Our devotion isn’t shown by actions but by a true, daily, vibrant personal relationship.

Do as the Bible says, carefully determine what pleases God’s heart and leave opinion out. By searching God’s words, you’ll easily find the way to His heart and secure His blessings. Ms. Jones-Rakestraw got a rude awakening by operating in belief instead of facts. Don’t be like that! Know your God! You are loved by Him!

For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭9‬ NLT)

Jim brokers and sells used cars. He’s been in the business for many years. Sitting in his office is a book entitled “Everything I Know About Selling Cars”, but when you open it up, the pages are blank! In his words, just when you think you’ve seen it all, things change. His next book like it will be entitled “Everything That Men Know about Women”…

When I hear someone say, “Oh, I know all about that Jesus-Bible-Religion thing”, I shake my head out of equal parts humor and frustration. We think of God like He’s human, subject to all of our whims and failures. But just as we are much different from animals, so is God from us. He is way beyond our flaws, the best of what we desire to be! To know Him means we must change how we approach Him.

The best way to know God is to read the Bible. As you do, strip away the preconceived notions and prejudices that you normally associate with people and instead be open to a better idea. God is truly amazing and you are loved today! Start learning!
