For even Jesus’ brothers didn’t believe in him.” (John‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬ NLT)

The New York Mets were the laughing stock of baseball through the 1960s, posting the worst win/loss record in baseball history. The joke at the time was which would happen first, a winning season by the Mets or Apollo 11 landing on the moon. Well, both got there the same year in 1969. The Miracle Mets of 1969 shook the sports world by doing what no one thought could ever happen.

Sometimes we feel like that, like no one believes in us, that we really are special and can achieve in life or spiritually. Jesus knew how this felt. Personally. Both his family and His nation would largely reject Him. Yet notice that Jesus never stopped working and serving.

The day of silent skeptics in not found in the midst of our doing, but like with both Jesus and the Mets, in the completion of our work. Don’t be frustrated by people and their opinions. Trust in the One who KNOWS who you are and what He will accomplish through you! Completion will always quiet the critics! You are loved today!

My Lord and my God!’ Thomas exclaimed.” (John‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬ NLT)

When Thomas placed his hand upon the wounds of the newly-risen Jesus, he truly became convinced of the might and deity of his friend. While he was convinced that Jesus could work miracles, having seen them with his own eyes, he was now convinced in the true identity of Jesus, using the same measure of testing. Thomas’ proclamation sealed his allegiance forever having witnessed this latest sign.

We all have varying degrees of belief in how mighty Jesus is, some more than others. But just how many rabbits does Jesus have to pull out of a hat before you’ll be so convinced of His reality and purpose that you commit yourself to His way fully and without compromise? What will it take before you’ll walk the Christ Life forever with complete trust?

Take a moment to do a deep assessment. If Jesus has to keep performing miracles to only get a half-hearted response from you, then you’ve got a problem. Become sensitive to your own need for commitment or no amount of miracles will help! You really are loved! Know it!

A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.” (Acts 2:43 NLT)

In 1947, welterweight boxing champion, Sugar Ray Robinson, was scheduled to fight in a prize match against Jimmy Doyle. However, Robinson had nightmares about killing Doyle in the ring, so vivid that he threatened to quit the match. Promoters went so far as to hire a priest to reassure Robinson that everything would be okay. So, on June 25, Doyle went down in the 8th with a TKO, was rushed to the hospital, and died the next day. That fight would haunt Robinson the rest of his life.

We live in a world where the supernatural happens everyday. Whether it’s good or bad, it happens: whispered warnings, spooky voices, miraculous survivals, premonitions of things, dreams… As Christians, we understand the fact that we are spiritual creatures having an earthly experience. But what about those that aren’t so aware?

As you come to church today, come ready to worship in a way that you can feel His very real presence! But be patient and able to explain the spiritual and demonic in a way that not only opens the minds of others, but invites them into a desirous, miraculous relationship with God. You are loved today! Experience it!

The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, ‘They have no more wine.'” (John 2:3 NLT)

The National Mustard Museum was established in 1992 by an ex–Assistant Attorney General who left his job to open a mustard museum after browsing the mustard aisle in the grocery store during a late-night shopping trip. With more than 5,600 different types of mustard on display, he claims that his destiny began when he appeared before the US Supreme Court to argue a case and won it with a jar of mustard in his pocket. Speechless…

Some things are strangely important to people, but not to the rest of the world. When the wedding ran out of wine, how was that Jesus’ concern or care? But for some reason, it was to Mary, and her faith for divine intervention at a forgettable social function led to a bonafide miracle and a story that has stirred people’s faith for help over little things for centuries!

Don’t fret over the little things! If it’s important to you, it’s important to God because you’re important to Him! Take your needs to God in prayer and see what He might do. It could be something that could change a life! You are loved today!

Human defiance only enhances your glory.” (Psalms 76:10 NLT)

Was the parting of the Red Sea caused by a random hurricane? Could a random meteor shower have destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? Did John write the Book of Revelation while using psychedelic drugs? Maybe the plagues of Egypt were caused by climate change?

While one blogger I read recently is throwing this “random accident” stuff around, I believe something else: We live in the presence of a mighty God that still reaches out to perform miracles among His people everyday! If it takes as much faith to believe in miracles as it does in coincidental accidents, then some won’t choose faith because it means there IS a God, meaning His words ARE right, meaning there WILL be Divine Accountability, meaning there WILL be punishment for behaving badly…

Human defiance of God’s existence only fools those that hate accountability of their actions. God does exist and He still moves among us to reveal this fact. God is not dead, but is very alive and near us! Live to see the miraculous around you everyday! You are loved!

And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers…He will certainly care for you.” (Matthew 6:30 NLT)

This past Sunday was a scary time as one of our church members fell over with a heart attack just as Sunday School was about to start. While 911 was being called, our people jumped in with CPR and prayer! We literally saw our brother pass away and be brought back to life before our eyes!

The crazy part is hearing all the “coincidences” that took place prior: our nurses happened to be at worship practice that morning, the Fire Department happened to have their first response truck ready & firemen were there that morning, he had been feeling bad but came to church anyway, all of our Prayer Warriors happened to be there… To top it off, he had one stint surgery and is coming home today! This is phenomenal!

You could ask why God didn’t just prevent the occurrence in the first place, but I believe God had something to show us. He still moves mountains just for you! He completes miracles that testify to His working everyday! Trust that God knows exactly how to help you. His joy is not in your tests, but in your testimony! You are loved today!

How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them.” (Psalms 111:2 NLT)

In 1967, Charles Hummel wrote a book entitled “The Tyranny of the Urgent”, dealing with the needs and demands that assault our time, making sure we accomplish our priorities. As a Christian writer, Hummel’s prescription was to temper our own compulsions and reactions to external pressures of the moment with personal spiritual inventory, and set priorities based on “prayerful waiting on God’s instruction.”

Now we are assaulted by increasing waves of information and stimuli. Demands for immediate response. Lack of privacy. It is often tempting to let what is urgent get in the way of what’s important. If we’re not careful, God will perform miracles daily to get us through to the next urgency, but we miss the beauty of the fact that we just witnessed a miracle! The daily miracles are our reminder that God DOES exist and that our little lives ARE important to Him!

As you come to church today, let God remind you of all the good things He has done in your life. He will help you to remember (v.4), which helps you to realize that you are blessed and favored by a living, gracious God! Don’t miss favor for the frustrations! You are loved today!
