Again the Israelites did evil in the LORD’s sight.” (Judges‬ ‭10‬:‭6‬ NLT)

Giuseppe Garibaldi was born to be a rebel. His résumé sounds almost too fantastic to believe:
*A failed insurrection against the Italian President, 1834.
*Rebellion in both Brazil and Uruguay, 1840s.
*Round 2 in Italy, 1848.
*Overtook Sicily, 1860.
(He even offered to help President Lincoln win the Civil War in 1861, but was prudently denied!)

In the Old Testament, it seems like every time Israel got their act together, they’d fall off the wagon again. Doesn’t sound too far from our own stories, does it? There is this thing in us that refuses to allow us to be obedient to God at all times, like rebellion is bred inside our DNA. But that sin nature must be conquered. Left unchecked, it will destroy everything in your life!

Stubbornness and rebellion is a hard way to live. Choose instead to do right. As the Bible tells us, “Those that live by the sword will die by the sword” (Matt. 26:52). Live right so that you have nothing to regret and makes people talk! You are loved today!

The disciples were astounded. ‘Then who in the world can be saved?’ they asked.” (Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭25‬ NLT)

“Mitchell” was not a regular guy, nor was his church. Mitchell was newly saved and hungry for God. He had been a warlock in two covens overseas and one here in America when he was radically changed! His church, however, wasn’t. Adultery, divisiveness, and rebellion ran rampant in the congregation. One evangelist even preached a message against her called “Witches Brew in the Pew.” Ironic choice of terms, I thought.

The disciples had their own world rocked by Jesus. If the “righteous” won’t make Heaven, then who would?! The answer is those that are TRULY changed. Mitchell deserved a deep place in Hell for his choices, yet God reached out to him and gladly accepted the prodigal home. His church, however, continued to follow it’s own hellish path of destruction. The true miracle is how he got saved there in the first place!

Only God can accomplish true redemption; Man fails at it everyday. Never write anyone off as “impossible for redemption“! Sometimes it’s the toughest ones that come home first while those that know better never do! Make sure your path is actually the one of true repentance! You are loved today!

So you must submit to governing authorities, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.” (Romans 13:5 NLT)

On May 31, 2009, George Tiller, a physician from Wichita, Kansas, who was nationally known for being one of the few doctors in the United States to perform late-term abortions, was killed by Scott Roeder. This spun off a political firestorm for our nation with debates from every side. At the heart of this was a debate on Christianity.

Syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin described the killer thus: “Tiller’s suspected murderer, Scott Roeder, was white, Christian, anti-government, and anti-abortion.” Yet, according to scripture, can a true Christian be anti-government? Can he really justify breaking God’s laws for a “godly” purpose?

Live according to God’s instructions, which includes obeying authorities. Righteous rebellion aside, when Paul wrote this, he was also under an ungodly government system. Obedience is on our part, not theirs. Live for a clear conscience that shows Christ’s love to a dark world! You are loved today!
