“You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care.” (Job‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ NLT)

Lake Natron in Tanzania is one of the most serene lakes in Africa, but it’s also seemingly mythological, appearing to turn living animals to stone! The water’s alkalinity comes from the minerals that flow into the lake from the surrounding hills. And deposits of sodium carbonate — which was once used in Egyptian mummification — also acts as a fantastic type of preservative for those animals unlucky enough to die in its waters, appearing to turn them into stone!

While the caustic waters of Lake Natron only preserve after it has eaten away life, God preserves our life from destruction. Yet to a life undedicated to Him, it risks the ruin of itself due to the erosive nature of sin, selfishness, and self-destruction based upon Free Choice, which is not free from consequence. This dissolved life now stands as a monument to the world as stark as flamingo skeletons in briny waters. But does anyone notice?

Take today to REALLY LOOK at lives around you. Pay attention to more than gaudy trappings and sparkling laughter. Look in the eyes for life! See for yourselves the devastation of sin and the sweetness of salvation! Where lives are truly saved, God creates monuments of testimony! You are loved today!

“No evil shall befall you…” (Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭10‬ NKJV)

One of the most infamous crimes in American history took place on the evening of August 9, 1969, when cult leader Charles Manson ordered four members of the Manson Family to break into the Los Angeles home of actress Sharon Tate. Tate and four other victims were brutally murdered. There was one individual, however, that was supposed to be there, but a minor inconvenience saved his life.

Noted Polish novelist Jerzy Kosinski was invited to attend Tate’s get-together on August 9 and hopped on a flight from Paris to Los Angeles. Kosinski’s luggage ended up being sent to New York by mistake, so when the flight stopped there for a layover, he was forced to leave the plane to retrieve his bags. As a result, he missed the remainder of his flight and was not present at Tate’s home when the Manson murders took place.

While we do not know Kosinski’s spiritual state of the time, we do know what scripture says for the believer. God desires to protect us, even by causing inconvenience if it accomplishes the task. Live a protectable life by staying in God’s hands! You are loved today!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ NLT)

In the heartland of England lies a place as treacherous as the Bermuda Triangle. Known as the Peak District near Derbyshire, this mountain range is responsible for at least 122 military aircraft crashes during WWII. According to, when the fog rolled in, things got treacherous. Just take a stroll through the hills and you are guaranteed to find wreckage among the rocks.

Life can get just as foggy as the Peak District mountains; when panic sets in, bad things happen. As the biblical writer states, we must remember that God is in control and simply follow where He leads. Getting anxious and jumping abruptly often leads to hurtful places outside of God’s will. But God will never lead you where His grace cannot keep you!

As you go about your week, guard against being reactionary. While our own understanding works occasionally, it is often at odds with God’s direction. Let the Holy Spirit be your compass instead, placing your trust in the hands of Him who sees through life’s fog! You are loved today!

Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful.” (Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ NLT)

The government is at it again. Recent local rulings in Fayetteville have State lawmakers creating legislation to protect businesses and ministries from groups whose values conflict with Judeo-Christian beliefs. Seems that within America’s near future, citizens will be found guilty and jailed for discrimination while blind eyes are turned against the discrimination of the 1st amendment and the sanctity of religious beliefs.

As I sat with local pastors and legislators last night, learning of new bills to pass before the House on our protective, collective behalf, I couldn’t help but think of this verse. My trust is not completely in government rulings or the public’s fickle opinions, but in the Hand of my God who will only lead me where His grace shields me. Any other place would only leave me a nervous wreck!

As the political season begins to gear up, don’t be afraid to speak up and vote according to God’s Word. Evil can only reign if the good people will do nothing. But let your ultimate trust be in the God that no one can kick off the throne! We are held securely in Him, no matter the polling outcomes! You are loved today!

But I will rescue you from those you fear so much. Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe.” (Jeremiah‬ ‭39‬:‭17-18‬ NLT)

According to David Harlow, associate director for operations with the U.S. Marshals Service, more than 18,400 men, women and children have participated in the Witness Security Program, and not one of the 8,500 witnesses or the 9,900 family members has been harmed, according to the U.S Marshals Service. “It’s a big feather in our cap,” Harlow told CNN back in 2013.

You don’t have to rat on the Mob to be scared of people. For the most part, you simply don’t want to fight, be frowned on, or have someone spreading rumors about you. Just as the Marshals protect from harm, so does The Lord, watching over our life and making sure we are safe from the more common, less deadly form of personal conflict. Yet, even in dangerous moments, God intervenes!

As you live today, know that God watches over you! You don’t have to fear the words or weapons of others. His vow to you is safety, as long as you stay in His spectrum of blessing! You are loved today! Live confidently!

The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Psalms 118:6 NLT)

Charley Parkhurst was a western icon as a stagecoach driver. Despite missing one eye, Charley knew how to handle the reins. It’s said that the driver once crossed a raging river right before the bridge collapsed, stopped a runaway coach while being dragged through the brush, and even shot an outlaw who was holding up the coach. But when Charley died in 1879, friends made the most unusual discovery: Charley was actually a woman!

A number of women in history disguised themselves as men to protect themselves, with some men doing the same thing! When fear sets in, there’s not much we won’t do to save our own hide. But scripture urges us to not fear anyone, being confident instead in God. Though people can hurt us, God will always deliver and restore us, even one day taking us Home, away from all hurt.

Fear is a thankless master. Living in fear means living with the faith that something is bigger or stronger than God. Live with the confidence that God is greater, and He can deliver us from anything! God is for you & you are loved today!
