Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints.” (Psalms‬ ‭116‬:‭15‬ NKJV)

My Uncle Kennon was a wonderful Methodist pastor and Air Force Chaplain, but a terrible carpenter. One day he decided to reach the town drunk by repairing a hole on his barn roof. In the process, he accidentally dropped his hammer through the hole, which happened to land on the drunk’s homemade still, destroying it! Consequently, the man decided it was a sign from God, gave up drinking and got saved!

His wife, my Aunt Mary Elizabeth, was just as funny. Having taught classical music and played in numerous orchestras, she seemed to know absolutely everyone. In one story, her and a daughter were traveling out of state. My aunt struck up a conversation with an unknown couple from Japan, because she didn’t ever meet a stranger. In the course of conversation, they were good friends with a Japanese gentleman that she had taught music to in Japan when she lived there shortly after WWII!

My Uncle Kennon went to be with the Lord in 1990. Today, we lay Aunt Mary Elizabeth to rest. If God has a trophy room reserved for His saints, they should be on the top shelf. Always remember that our loss is Heaven’s gain, and our reward will be to join them again in Heaven! Celebrate life today! We are loved!

And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” (Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ NKJV)

Imagine if the birth of Christ happened today, how would it be written? Maybe it would be something like this:

“And suddenly an angel appeared to the Detroit sanitation workers as they hung out at the garbage truck garage. Frightened, they ran for cover, just knowing that all kinds of badness was about to break out! But the angel spoke peace to them, announcing the birth of the Savior, ‘And this will be the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in a homeless man’s jacket and lying in a shopping cart in a parking garage on Junction Street.’ And suddenly the garage was filled with angels singing and praising God, blending worship with diesel fumes. Once the workers realized that it wasn’t a gang drive-by, and making vows to visit their mommas at church, they scrambled into their garbage trucks and caravanned to the parking garage and found the baby just like they were told, along with a frightened teenage girl and her boyfriend.”

Sometimes we miss just how strange the original story was! But God’s plan was with a purpose, that the Savior would be welcomed by all nationalities and social classes. Take time this Christmas to appreciate the story God created for all mankind and you! You are divinely loved!

Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” (James‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ NLT)

John was raised in a Christian home, felt called to the ministry, and had even earned a Master’s Degree in Ministry. But lacking a true faith, he walked away, chasing money and spiraling into a loose lifestyle and an addiction to alcohol. Ridden with guilt, he remained away from God.

But God had different plans for John! Having been invited to a church service, he heard a man speak of God’s incredible love and forgiveness, and His power to miraculously deliver from addiction. With nothing left to lose, John gave in and asked Jesus for a new chance at life. At that moment, John found what he had never truly know, even while attending seminary: a vibrant, real relationship with the Creator of his soul!

God’s desire for you is not religious action and thinking, but a deeply moving, daily growing relationship with Him. Come to Church today and find yourself in that place with Him. This Christmas could be your best one yet! You are truly loved today!

After dark one evening, Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee, came to speak with Jesus.” (John‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ NLT)

Network211 is a project that uses Internet evangelism and connects responders with volunteers. In 2010, 1,131,423 people from 230 countries and territories viewed evangelism sites and 81,989 made an evangelism response. Currently, 28,646 continue to interact with Network211 in a discipleship connection!

What makes this group’s accomplishments so amazing is that it’s greatest generating of interest is in Asia and Africa, in the predominantly Muslim nations where Christianity is a crime. While these may not attend a Christian service, they are like modern-day Nicodemuses, coming to Jesus under a protective cover and accepting His extended offer of salvation.

Take time to pray for those that are looking for life but live under a cloud of fear. Ask God to help them find their way to the Christ Life, where a bold love awaits them! Who knows, you might be a Network211 connection to someone near you today! You are loved! Share it!

See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” (Isaiah‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ NLT)

Jeff Rennell was among the motorists caught up in the tangle of nearly four dozen semi-tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles near Michigan City on I-94 in Indiana due to whiteout conditions which left three motorists dead and several injured back in January. “It was like an onion. They went layer by layer by layer by layer,” he says of the 3-hour rescue by 15 First Responders. “They said, ‘We’re not leaving tonight ’til you get out of this car.'”

We should never be surprised when God “finally” comes to save us. With God, timing is everything. He’s not only meeting your needs but those of 6+ billion people also, with all of our lives intersecting to make greater impacts in the passing. God saves us so that others can see and be both inspired for their own life and witness God at work firsthand.

As you go about your week, don’t become impatient by what God seems to NOT be doing. God is always on the move on your behalf. Stay strong knowing that, like Rennell, God will not leave you until you are safe from the crushing layers of your life! You are loved today!

The disciples were astounded. ‘Then who in the world can be saved?’ they asked.” (Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭25‬ NLT)

“Mitchell” was not a regular guy, nor was his church. Mitchell was newly saved and hungry for God. He had been a warlock in two covens overseas and one here in America when he was radically changed! His church, however, wasn’t. Adultery, divisiveness, and rebellion ran rampant in the congregation. One evangelist even preached a message against her called “Witches Brew in the Pew.” Ironic choice of terms, I thought.

The disciples had their own world rocked by Jesus. If the “righteous” won’t make Heaven, then who would?! The answer is those that are TRULY changed. Mitchell deserved a deep place in Hell for his choices, yet God reached out to him and gladly accepted the prodigal home. His church, however, continued to follow it’s own hellish path of destruction. The true miracle is how he got saved there in the first place!

Only God can accomplish true redemption; Man fails at it everyday. Never write anyone off as “impossible for redemption“! Sometimes it’s the toughest ones that come home first while those that know better never do! Make sure your path is actually the one of true repentance! You are loved today!

Jesus replied, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.'” (John‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ NLT)

In 1985, art professor Howard Storm collapsed during a visit to Europe. As he lay in the hospital, he found himself slipping away from his body and into pure horror as he arrived in Hell. The tale ends with Storm realizing he was being lied to and making peace with God. But nothing can remove the memory of living in a world where no good can exist and only eternal torment awaits.

To be “born again” means something has to die first. As in the professor’s life, only when he found death and damnation did he realize his need for God’s salvation and life. He was fortunate. To live for God means to die to selfish living and desires; that my life belongs to God from this moment on, until I enter my own eternity.

Do not fear what you have to give up to gain the Christ Life. For every sacrifice, God replaces it with what we truly need, which is even better! Is there any reason you cannot receive a better eternity today? If not, then contact me and let me have the privilege of making it permanent! Or call on the Lord himself, who stands by ready to lead you to true life! You are loved today!
