Take the sacrifice and bind it with cords on the altar.” (Psalms 118:27 NLT)

In biblical times, the sacrifice was slain on an altar for sins, so that the owner of the animal could be pure before God. Nothing dies willingly, so the animal had to be bound down tightly so that it couldn’t escape. Once it was slain, it was then burned to ashes.

While Jesus was our Ultimate Sacrifice on the cross, we trek His footsteps sacrificially too. But self-will makes that difficult. You must be willing to embrace what the sacrifice represents: the burning away of sin, being made pure before God through loss or even hardship, being separated to God for His work. The pain is not physical affliction, but the death of desire, never realizing until after that God’s desires are always better & more rewarding.

Don’t try to escape! The Christ Life isn’t always easy, but no life really is. But it does let you live with greater satisfaction for life & with ALOT fewer regrets! Let God lead you willingly to cleansing streams of grace so that you truly change. You are loved! Have a great weekend!
