Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers…” (Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭12‬ NLT)

Superman was always one of my favorite superheroes. To have such incredible powers is every boy’s dream and every insurance agent’s nightmare! And how fascinating that a pair of glasses was all Clark Kent needed to disguise himself! If all those people only knew what I knew…

How many people see Jesus, but never recognize Him for anything other than “Clark Kent”? We fail to see who He really is because we have a preconceived idea, formulated by harmless opinions but deny His holy godhood. Some see a simple teacher of good words. Others see a heretic, a rabble rouser that still divides people. But all these are views by those who only see the glasses and miss the truth!

Oswald Chambers once said, “Jesus must appear to you and to your friend individually; no one can see Jesus with your eyes. And division takes place when one has seen Him and the other has not. You cannot bring your friend to the point of seeing; God must do it.” The Lord’s desire is for you to know Him fully. See Him for who He really is! You are loved today!

People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.” (Proverbs 10:9 NLT)

Following WWII, the KKK began having a resurgence in membership. When an undercover reporter couldn’t get anyone to hear his disturbing finds, he sent them to the writers of the Superman cartoon series. The “Clan Of The Fiery Cross” episode was aired, revealing many secrets and agendas, albeit with a little license. The end result is that Superman saved the day with his cartoon, causing Klan memberships to slump back down into a minor state again.

The Bible declares that if we are living right, then we have no fear of being exposed. It’s in those moments of weakness that leave us vulnerable. Freedom from exposure means living pure, not giving into fleshly cravings. This cannot be done on our own strength, but by daily coming to God for His help to overcome.

As you come to church today, be willing to let God take those areas out of your life. Your safety from exposure comes as you allow God to change your desires, from flesh to spirit. Then, by living clean, you’ll never fear being found out! You are loved today! Be free!
