“Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.” (Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭28‬ NLT)

I literally felt my brain shriveling. The more they talked, the worse it got. Politics, sports, economy…it didn’t matter the subject, they knew EVERYTHING about everything! And when they started on ministry, I was done. Last thing I wanted to hear was ignorance spouted as fact that only leads to deeper ignorance. Ugh.

We’ve all done it. Unfortunately, we are the last to know that we do it. But it stems from a need for self-worth and acceptance. We want people to WANT to listen and learn from us. And yet, we cross lines out of ignorance or argument, cutting off relationships or opportunities to truly make a difference. All because we can’t keep our mouth shut until we can say a good word.

The Bible gives us some great advice: Keep Your Mouth Shut! Some things can only be said out of relationship or anointing. Wait for the right time and the right words and you will get the right reactions! You are loved today! Speak right!
