Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.'” (Isaiah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ NLT)

A 29-year-old Canadian man was returning home from lunch when he was alerted by a neighbor about noises coming from a nearby dumpster that sounded like a baby crying. Immediately, the man jumped in and rescued the child, which had been wrapped in a plastic bag to die. Even though he had his own agenda, he stopped to become an accidental hero.

When God calls to us, just as He did to Isaiah, there must come that moment where you lay down your own agenda and plans in order to take up God’s. Our own plans often run at odds with what God desires because they are mostly selfish. To be available for God’s use means ridding from our life anything that would either compete with his agenda or make us spiritually unfit for a holy task.

As you are getting ready for church tomorrow, consider that God is constantly looking for willing workers to accomplish His tasks of reaching and enriching people’s lives. If you would be found capable, be willing to have your priorities changed. Be an intentional hero that affects eternities wherever you go! You are loved today!

On another Sabbath day, a man with a deformed right hand was in the synagogue while Jesus was teaching.” (Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ NLT)

One Wednesday night during a church service, I felt the need to take up an extra offering. Following the service, I spoke to a lady that was passing through who mentioned a need she was facing in town. Feeling prompted again, I found out her exact financial need, checked the offering, and saw that they were an exact match! And to make it an even cooler story, she gave in the offering to help someone else, never thinking she would receive it back! Imagine her surprise at the gift and my excitement to be used by God!

Just as it was with Jesus, so it is with us. Wherever you go, there are always those with needs that need to be met. You never know the Who or the What, but God has caused your paths to cross that He can use you to help them along.

So live today allowing God to direct your steps. You never know how awesome the end result will be! You are loved and useful! Be used today!

Then I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.” (Joel‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬ NLT)

According to the Associated Press, the Selective Service System mistakenly sent notices to more than 14,000 Pennsylvania men born between 1893 and 1897, ordering them to register for the nation’s military draft and warning that failure to do so is “punishable by a fine and imprisonment.” Considering that the youngest of these would be 117, nobody’s sure if even one of them is still alive!

The beauty of the “army” of God is that He uses all people to touch the lives of others, from single digit to triple digits ages alike! From places of influence to spiritual giftings, we are all capable of making eternal differences if we meet two criteria, that we are holy and are willing. If so, then the Draft Board of Heaven will make the call at any given moment, releasing us to dream a dream, have a vision, or share a word that changes lives!

As you start your weekend, start it with Heaven in mind! Watching the news headlines should instill in us all the need to be busy for the Kingdom. Live ready, for you never know when your assistance will be needed! Then join the ranks on Sunday, to be briefed by your commanders and charged by The General to storm life’s beachfronts and touch needy lives, regardless of your age! You are loved and needed today!
