O nations of the world, recognize the LORD, recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong.” (1 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭28‬ NLT)

Worldwide, more than eight-in-ten people identify with a religious group. A comprehensive demographic study of more than 230 countries and territories conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life estimates that there are 5.8 billion religiously affiliated adults and children around the globe, representing 84% of the 2010 world population of 6.9 billion. Of that group, Christianity ranks the highest with 32%, followed by Islam (23%), Hinduism (15%), Buddhism (7%), and Judaism (.2%), and a host of smaller religions.

From a Christian perspective, this is interesting, given our belief that when Noah and his family got off the ark, there were no other peoples or religions around. Somewhere along the way, things got off track. And while statistics prove that the world is a very religious society, needing to believe and worship something, where we began is neglected for what is preferred.

As you go about your week, ask yourself how you are helping the world to find its way back to the God of its creation. While Christians are perceived to be narrow-minded, we lose nothing if we are wrong in our stance. But if we are right, almost 70% of the world will suffer! Showing God’s love to them is the most humane and loving action we could ever provide! We are loved today by the God that is ready to welcome us all home!

Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other.” (Isaiah‬ ‭45‬:‭22‬ NLT)

Buddhism began around 500 BC, Hinduism around 1700 BC, and Islam around 600 AD. While there is MUCH room for interpretation here among their followers, none of them were around when God created the world. When He fashioned Man, God put a component in him that creates a hunger to worship. The natural fit was the Creator, but Man is a restless, flawed character, chasing and inventing other avenues of worship instead of what we were created for.

God’s call for salvation through His Son, Jesus, empowered through the Holy Spirit, echoes around the world daily. Imagine His frustration as He oversees the world, keeping everything around us moving, yet having to watch us worship our bodies, chase our lusts, glorify the lives of fallen people, invent new religions, and even worship the only other spiritual entities out there, the Angelic and the Demonic. Any lesser deity would start chunking lightning bolts! But God is patient and loving, so He continues to call out to fallen humanity to come back to its true home.

While there are plenty out there in Readerland that will disagree with me, and that’s fine, God is still there calling Mankind back to the purpose of creation: To simply live in the true contentment of God’s presence, like Eden was created to be. Find your Eden all over again, the place where God waits for you! Then join your family at Church this weekend and share the moment with the rest of us! You are loved!
